The Annual Wellness Visit is a yearly, no-cost benefit that reviews your health history, risk factors, and creates or updates a personalized prevention plan. It's not a hands-on physical exam — it typically includes a health risk assessment questionnaire, screenings for cognitive impairment and depression, and a fall-risk assessment.
You're eligible once you've had Part B (or Medicare Advantage) for at least 12 months, and you can use this benefit once every 12 months after that. Your very first visit is generally the most in-depth; later visits update your weight, blood pressure, and other basic markers against your existing plan.
